Venetian Causeway Speed Study
HBC provided traffic engineering support for a Venetian Causeway speed study between Bayshore Drive and Purdy Avenue in Miami Beach.
HBC supported Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works with traffic engineering services for a speed study along the Venetian Causeway bridges from Bayshore Drive to Purdy Avenue. The corridor is a highly visible multimodal connection between Miami and Miami Beach, making safety, operations, and appropriate speed guidance central to the effort.
The work included speed data collection and analysis, spot speed studies, and safety analysis activities across the causeway bridge corridor. HBC reviewed operating conditions to help establish a data-driven understanding of travel behavior and corridor safety needs.
The study provided recommendations for design speed, posted speed, and target speed along the corridor. This support helped the project team evaluate how speed management decisions could align with roadway context, bridge conditions, and safety expectations for all users.
