SR-817 / University Drive Widening

SR-817 / University Drive is a key Broward County corridor serving local traffic, regional access, commercial properties, neighborhoods, and connections to I-595. HBC is supporting FDOT District 4 on widening and infrastructure improvements from Nova Drive to SR-84.

Our work includes proactive utility coordination with Utility/Agency Owners, design teams, and contractors to resolve conflicts and keep relocations aligned with the project schedule. The coordination effort supports relocations and adjustments for drainage structures, overhead signs, mast arms, and utility poles while minimizing service disruptions along the corridor.

The project also includes improvements such as an auxiliary lane from NW 23rd Street to the westbound I-595 on-ramp, bus stop bay reconfiguration at Nova Drive and University Drive, and right-turn lane adjustments serving nearby properties and community access points. HBC helps align construction phasing, permitting, right-of-way constraints, and FDOT standards across the multidisciplinary scope.
