SR-25 / US-27 / Okeechobee Road Traffic Analysis

HBC supports future traffic and weaving analysis for planned reconstruction along the SR-25 / US-27 / Okeechobee Road corridor in Miami-Dade County.

HBC is supporting FDOT District 6 with traffic analysis for the planned reconstruction of SR-25 / US-27 / Okeechobee Road, a major corridor serving regional travel and freight movement in Miami-Dade County. The effort focuses on understanding future traffic conditions and weaving operations before design and construction decisions advance.

The project includes 24-hour volume and classification counts, turning movement counts, origin-destination data, travel time and speed runs, and queueing observations at thirteen locations between the SR-826 / Palmetto Expressway interchange and NW 87th Avenue. These data sets support network inputs, calibration, and traffic forecasting for the corridor.

HBC is using the collected information to support microsimulation for existing, future no-build, and future build conditions. The analysis helps evaluate operational needs, forecast traffic distribution, and provide decision-makers with a clearer picture of how the corridor can function through planned reconstruction.
