NW 17th Avenue Bridge over the Miami River

HBC supported PD&E study work for the rehabilitation of the NW 17th Avenue Bridge over the Miami River with traffic data collection and field analysis.

The NW 17th Avenue Bridge over the Miami River is a critical crossing within Miami's urban transportation network. HBC supported the Project Development and Environment study for the bridge rehabilitation with traffic data collection and field review services.

Our work included turning movement counts, 72-hour classification volume counts, 24-hour videos, peak-hour drone videos during bridge closure conditions, pedestrian and bicycle data, origin-destination data, spot speed data, and queueing data at study locations.

The resulting information helped the project team understand existing operations, multimodal activity, closure impacts, and safety considerations around the bridge. That data provides a foundation for evaluating rehabilitation needs and coordinating improvements within a constrained river-crossing environment.
