Johnson Street Complete Streets

HBC supported the Johnson Street Complete Streets project in Hollywood, helping evaluate improvements for reconstructing the corridor from North 30th Road to North Dixie Highway. The work focused on creating a safer and more connected corridor within the existing right of way.

The project included conceptual design alternatives, traffic analysis, limited topographic survey, data collection, and public involvement coordination. Proposed improvements included an interconnected sidewalk network, new lighting, transit bus stop upgrades, a reconstructed two-lane roadway with a center turn lane, and a new drainage system.

HBC conducted traffic operations analysis using traffic counts, forecasting, Synchro analysis, crash data review, and Highway Safety Manual analysis. The team provided recommendations for alternatives so the project could move forward with a clearer understanding of safety, mobility, and constructability needs.
