Boca Rio Road Widening

HBC is supporting Palm Beach County with the Boca Rio Road widening from Palmetto Park Road to Glades Road, a 1.53-mile corridor improvement in Boca Raton. The project focuses on improving roadway capacity, safety, drainage performance, and multimodal access along a growing Palm Beach County corridor.

The design includes adding one through lane in each direction, providing a raised median where right of way allows, upgrading intersections, and improving pedestrian safety and ADA compliance. The corridor improvements also include a new closed drainage system, replacement of four culverts, and stormwater management facility support.

HBC's role includes roadway design leadership, interdisciplinary coordination, ITS, signalization, lighting, drainage, and delivery management. The work brings together roadway geometry, safety improvements, utility and drainage coordination, and constructability considerations needed to move a complex widening project forward.
