Basin H1 Stormwater Improvements
HBC supports stormwater infrastructure improvements for Basin H1, a 48-acre drainage area in Belle Glade bounded by local streets and canal infrastructure.
Basin H1 is a 48-acre area in Belle Glade bounded by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard West, SW 4th Street, South Florida Conservancy District Canal 1, and South Main Street. HBC is supporting stormwater infrastructure improvements intended to improve drainage performance and reliability in the basin.
Our work includes utility coordination to support the installation of approximately 7,300 linear feet of new drainage pipe, 65 new drainage structures, a downstream defender, and a new outfall to Canal 1. HBC coordinates with utility providers to reduce conflicts and support integration of hydrodynamic stormwater treatment improvements.
The project supports systemwide stormwater planning to reduce flood risk, address ponding issues near City Hall, and strengthen infrastructure reliability. HBC also assists with regulatory compliance, construction coordination, and future-proofing through a stub-out for potential future flood mitigation projects.
